Here is a fun Gospel magic trick to teach about God's overflowing love! Have you ever wished you had more of God's love?I do.
It seems everyday I am praying that God helps me love people the way He loves them. His love is endless! Here is a great Gospel magic trick that uses the fun science experiment that many people call "Elephant Toothpaste."
Your kids will love the reaction and the message as well.
You will need some kind of large container about the size of a large turkey pan. I actually use a foil pan that is big enough to cook a turkey in. Its sides are about 3" high.
You will need an empty one liter water bottle. Take off the label.
You will need a small juice glass.
You will need one packet of Active Dry Yeast. Y
ou will need enough warm water to dissolve the yeast in, no more than a 1/4 cup.
You will need approximately 2 cups of 40Volume Clear Hydrogen Peroxide; also known as stabilizer formula (This is what people bleach their hair with). I purchase mine at my local beauty store. The brand name I use is Salon Care. Be aware, you cannot use "normal" hydrogen peroxide from the drug store. It is not powerful enough to give a great effect.
You will need about 13 drops of red food coloring to get a nice blood red color.
You will need a glass carafe or some kind of attractive glass bottle that will hold the peroxide. You will need about a teaspoon of liquid dish soap.
God's Love - Attach this label to your carafe. YOU - Attach this label to your empty water bottle. Make sure is really sticks even if it gets wet.
How to prepare for this Gospel magic trick:
Attach the two labels as directed above. Pour the hydrogen peroxide into the carafe and add the drops of food coloring to make it a nice blood red. Pour the dish soap into the empty water bottle. Place the water bottle in the middle of the pan and set the carafe and glass of yeast and funnel to the side of the pan.
Here is the script that goes nicely with this Gospel magic trick that I have adapted from Chris Koch, rcoffice@usfamily.net, Risen Christ Director of Children's and Youth Ministries.
Who would like to have more of God’s love? You? You? You?
Me too!But how do we get or grow in God’s love?
Let's let this empty bottle remind you of you...or you...or you. (Point to children in the audience.)
Let's let this pretty bottle remind us of God's love. The red can remind us of the blood that Jesus shed for each of us for the forgiveness of sin.
Now, back to my question. How do we grow or get filled with more of God's love?
(During each of the following 3 statements, you will pour some of the peroxide into the empty bottle. You will see some bubbling because of the dish soap, but don't bring any attention to it, even though the children might say something. Just keep your focus on your talk.)
"We get filled with God's love when we hear that Jesus died on the cross and rose again for our sins. (pour some peroxide into the glass)
"We get more of God's love when we find out that He is a Father to us and loves us like we are His children" (pour more peroxide into the glass)
"We get even more love when we find out that He is never going to leave us and is always there for us." (pour in the rest of the peroxide)
Knowing and believing these truths are great ways for our love to grow.
But have you ever wished you had so much love that it would just pour over into other people’s lives, like your friends’ lives or your family’s lives or even others’ lives you come in contact with?
How can this happen?
In 1 Peter 1:22, Peter says, “Love one another deeply from the heart.” I think this kind of deep love can only happen through prayer.
I have here a glass of dissolved yeast. (Hold up the yeast.) Yeast makes things grow, right? Like bread.
Now let’s let this yeast represent your prayers to God to help your love grow so that it overflows to all those around you.
Let’s add our prayers to what we already know is true about God and see what happens.
(Add the dissolved yeast to the peroxide and pretty much right away you will have a wonderful eruption that keeps going and going. It can actually continue for several minutes. The kids will go wild!)
(After some of the excitement dies down, say the following.)
WOW! When God fills us up with His love it spills out of us and we can share that love with others.
I want you to remember to continue to fill yourselves up with God's love through prayer and by reading the Bible and listening to people who tell you about Jesus. When you do this, God’s love will overflow to all you meet.

Here is a fun Gospel magic trick to teach about the forgiveness of sin!
Romans 3:23 says, "For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God." This falling short is a big problem for most people because most people believe that they can bridge the gap to God in their own strength or by their own means. Here is a really fun Bible object lesson to teach your kids that the only way to be freed from the power of sin is by believing on the Lord Jesus Christ.
I call it "The Right Key" and have adapted it from a fellow children's ministry worker.
What you will need for this Gospel magic trick:
You will need a long chain. I got a bright yellow one from Home Depot that works well. Attach a sign to the chain that says "SIN" and have a lock ready to "lock" the chain together once you have wrapped it around the child. I also have a bucket that holds the chain while on stage.
You will also need 6 envelopes (6x9 size). Label each one with a number 1 - 6. On the other side of the envelope, you will place the other labels I provided as attachments.
You will need 6 keys that do not work in the lock and the correct key. I tie pretty red ribbons on the end of each key. You also need a "Change Bag" for this trick. You can usually get one at your local Magic Shop if you are near one or go online. In one side of the bag you will put all 6 of the "bad" keys and in the other side you will put the "good" key.
Ask for a child to come up on stage. Ask his/her name and tell him to stand in the center of the stage.
The Bible says that God's Word is powerful to save us. But save us from what? Our sin. (Hold up "sin" sign.) Romans 3:23 says that all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God. That means all of you and myself and ________________(child's name) are sinners. But what is sin anyway? Sin is anything I think, anything I say or anything I do that displeases God. Now _______________, the Bible says you are a sinner. Sometimes you might lie or cheat or disobey your parents. Sometimes you might have a bad attitude or unkind thoughts toward others. Each sin we commit is like adding another link to this long chain. (As you say each sin, wrap the child in the chain. You might have to say several types of sin depending on how long your chain is.) Our sin binds us and hinders us from living the life of freedom God desires for us. This lock (hold up the lock) reminds us of Romans 6:23 which says: "for the wages of sin is death..." and if you don't have the right key to unlock this awful chain of sin, the Bible says you will surely die in your sin.
Inside this bag, (show the bag and poke the inside out to show that it is empty. Of course the kids won't see the right key in the secret compartment.) I am going to place 6 keys inside this bag. (Have the children count with you as you place them in.) One of these keys is powerful enough to open this lock and free________________ from his sin.
I need another helper. (Get child's name.) Now, each of these keys represent different ways man thinks he can open the gates of heaven. Some people think they can be free from their sin just by being a good person. (Let Helper reach into bag and pull out a key. Let him try to unlock the lock. Of course it wont' work.) Say, "Hmm. I wonder why that didn't work." The truth is that I don't care how wonderful you are and how many good things you do, it will never be enough to get rid of your sin. (Tell Helper to place that key in envelope number one and then turn the envelope around to reveal the other side's label.)
The second way people think they can be free from sin is by obeying all the 10 Commandments. (Helper picks another key and tries to unlock the lock.) Say, "Oh, well, better luck next time." The truth is that if you've broken just one of the commandments of God, you've broken them all. So, although the 10 Commandments are very good and can keep us from doing wrong, they are not powerful enough to get rid of our sin. (Tell Helper to place that key in envelope number two and then turn the envelope around to reveal the other side's label.)
Another way people try to get rid of their sin is by being very religious. (Helper picks another key and tries to unlock the lock.) Say, "You're not having very good luck are you?" The truth is their are many, many religions in the world. Buddhist, Catholic, Muslim, Christian... You can call yourself any one of these. You can even call yourself a Christian, but just because you say you're a Christian doesn't make you one. And just because you say you're a hamburger doesn't mean your'e sitting on a counter at McDonald's. No, following a certain religion won't get rid of yor sin either. (Tell Helper to place that key in envelope number three and then turn the envelope around to reveal the other side's label.)
I know! How about believing in God? That has to be the key to freeing ________________ from his sin. (Helper picks another key and tries to unlock the lock.) Say, "Have you ever opened a lock before?" Wow! I don't understand this! Haven't many of you been taught in Sunday School to believe in God? Isn't God all-powerful? The answer is "Yes, He is!" But there's a very important Bible verse that says that even the demons believe in God and tremble and they are not saved! (Tell Helper to place that key in envelope number four and then turn the envelope around to reveal the other side's label.)
What about being generous?! That's got to be the key! (Helper picks another key and tries to unlock the lock.) Say to the kid in chains: "Things aren't looking to good for you, buddy!" Have you ever met a super giving person? Aren't they great to be around? They're always so kind and helpful A lot like ...Mary Poppins. But, while being generous may give you lots of friends, it won't give you freedom from your sins. (Tell Helper to place that key in envelope number five and then turn the envelope around to reveal the other side's label.)
Well, there's just one more envelope and I bet __________________ is hoping it will contain the key to free him from this chain of sin and death. _______________ (Helper), could you go and turn envelope number six around? Ahhh! Believing in Jesus! Let's see if that key works. (Helper will reach into the bag and unbeknownst to him, you will have switched the compartment on the change bag to the correct key. He will try it in the lock and of course it will work.) Hallelujah!! ______________ is saved from these chains of sin and death!
So, boys and girls, never ever forget, the only way you can be saved from your sins and live forever in Heaven with God is by believing on the lord Jesus Christ!

Here is a Gospel magic trick that teaches the truth that God is powerful!
I am always on the lookout for science experiments that can be turned into a Gospel magic trick.
I have found a lot of great experiments from Steve Spangler.
His website is https://www.stevespanglerscience.com/ and if you are serious about incorporating GREAT Bible object lessons in your classes, you definitely want to check his site out.
This Gospel magic trick comes from one of his experiments called "Stuck Like Glue." I came up with my own script to share a Gospel message which talks about how when we do good works for God, He will show Himself powerful in our lives.x
What you need:
3 plates/dishes 3 paper towels 1 bowl of water 3 pieces of paper 1 lighter/match 3 glass jars or glasses 3 pens or pencils.
The trick:
Completely wet one paper towel and press it flat down on the plate. Light the piece of paper and let it begin to burn. Place the paper inside the glass and immediately turn it over onto the papertowel. Let the flame burn out, then lift up the glass. The glass will adhere to the paper towel and plate.
Script:
Our Bible verse today says: "So, my dear brothers and sisters, (stay) strong and immovable (steady). Always work enthusiastically for the Lord, for you know that nothing you do for the Lord is ever useless (wasted)." (1 Corinthians 15:58 NLT)
There are so many wonderful things that we can do for God. We can pray that our friends and family members will come to know Him.
We can help people out by giving them things that they might need like food or clothing or money. What are some other things we can do for God? (Wait for responses.) Yes.
Those are all great ideas of things we can do for God. And our Bible verse says that ANYTHING we do for God will NEVER be wasted. There is another Bible verse that says "...when we are weak, God is strong." (2 Corinthians 12:10) So, even if we can only do little things for the Lord, God will still show Himself powerful to all who can see.
Let me show you what I mean... I have here a plate, a paper towel, and a glass. Let's let the plate remind you of you. Now let's let this paper towel remind us of Jesus whom the Bible calls "the Living Water". (Immerse paper towel in the water.) I think this name of Jesus reminds us of a water fountain that just keeps giving water and never stops. God gave you His one and only Son, Jesus. (Flatten the paper towel onto the plate.)
Here is a a pretty glass. This glass will remind us of the good work we can do for God. Here are 3 pieces of paper. (Hold up the piece of paper.) Can I have 3 of you each write an example of a good deed that can be done for God? (Wait for response and write it down on the piece of paper.) Excellent! I will write that good deed on this paper. Here is a lighter. I am going to light this piece of paper, because another Bible verse says, "Let your light shine before men so they may see your good deeds and praise the Father in Heaven." (Matthew 5:16)
I am now going to put the good deed in the pretty deed holder. I am going to turn this work for God over onto the plate, because I want to give to God all that I do for Him. The light is burning out, but don't worry, God is still at work. He has taken the good deed that you or I did and can show the world around us that He is strong and powerful!
Now, what will happen if we don't give our good deeds over to the Lord? Instead our good works are just all about us. (Take a second plate and place the wet paper towel on it. Light a second piece of paper and place it in a second glass, but don't turn it over and try and lift the plate.
Of course, it won't work.) Hmm. A Good work plus No connection to God and His Son Jesus equals no power. You see, when we don't do our good deeds for the Lord, God's power won't be able to shine through us. But if we give our good works to the Lord (Do the whole trick with the 3rd plate and so on...) then God's power will be seen by those around us and nothing we do for Him will ever be wasted.

Here is a Gospel magic trick that teaches the truth that when we trust in God, He will protect us!
Are you living the egg-citing life of trust in God? Or do you think that life is just not all it's cracked up to be? Here is a fun Gospel magic trick that your kids will love. It takes some practice, but once you get the technique down, you and your kids will be glad you took the time to learn it.
What you need:
1 dozen eggs
2 pie tins
2 large clear glasses or containers, large enough to hold 7 eggs
2 toilet paper rolls
A pitcher of water
Red food coloring
Red cross with food coloring inserted
Trash Can
What to prepare:
Place both containers on a tray or a table. I actually velcroed mine down so that they didn't fall when I pull out the pie tin.
Have your carton of eggs nearby. Fill one of your containers with water about 3/4 full.
Prepare a wooden cross with some red food coloring on the bottom. This will easily transfer to the water when you place the cross inside the container.
Every time a person is involved in the story, you will balance an egg on the roll which stands on the pie tin. You will need to practice pulling the pie tin out from under the roll and egg, but you will get it after a few tries or so. Don't give up if it takes you a little longer.
My kids really loved this trick. I have placed the words in blue below in the script to show when you should pull the pie tin each time.
Script:
Have you ever heard the phrase “having the rug pulled out from under your feet?”
Picture yourself (hold up egg) standing (place egg sideways on top of the paper towel roll) on a rug (hold up the pie tin, then place it on top of the glass) and without you knowing it, someone yanks (pull the pie tin right out from under the roll and egg) the rug right out from under your feet and you fall flat like a cracked egg.
You ask yourself, “What in the world just happened?”
The phrase “having the rug pulled out from under your feet” can be applied to any situation that catches you off guard.
You just didn’t expect for that to happen.
For example, you’re standing in line to buy popcorn at the movies and the person in front of you turns around too fast and bumps into you and dumps soda all over your nice new shirt!
Ughh! You just didn’t expect that! Or maybe a friend promised to go to Disneyland with you but at the last minute they changed their mind.
You can’t believe it! You’ve been planning to go to Disneyland for months! You just didn’t expect that!
Un-eggs-pected things happen to all of us. It’s been going on since the beginning of time. Even to people in the Bible.
Take David for egg-sample…Samuel the priest anointed him to be king of all Israel when he was only 16, but he really didn’t get to be king until he was much older. Instead he became eggs-hausted at running away from King Saul to save his life!
Abraham became egg-cited when God told him he would be a father of many nations, but he didn’t egg-spect to have to wait so long.
And Joseph was no egg-ception to surprises in his life. One day his brothers threw him into a well and left him there for dead! Yep. Sooner than later life has a way of pulling the rug out from all of us.
Most people go through life thinking it is not all it is cracked it up to be. Egg-cept for those of us who have learned to trust in God! You see, I am a Christian. That means that I believe that God loves me so much that He gave His one and only Son Jesus to die for my sin.
Let’s let this glass remind us of Jesus, whom the Bible says is “the living water.”
Jesus died on the cross (Hold of red cross) and shed His blood (Place cross with red food coloring into water) to forgive my sin.
Sin is anything I think, anything I say or anything I do that displeases God. Because I believe that Jesus died for my sin, I am forgiven of my sin and I am now His child.
When life throws me unexpected punches, (pull the tin) I will be OK, because the Bible says, “the eternal God, (that’s Jesus) is a dwelling place, and underneath are (His) everlasting arms…”
Look! No cracks. God will always protect me. (Place egg on top of roll again.) I will still fall sometimes and life will throw me unexpected punches, (pull the tin) but God will always keep me safe when I trust in His everlasting arms of love.
You see, David had to learn how to trust God too. Eventually he became king, but there were times in his life when he was knocked down, especially by family members.
Even Jesus knew that He could trust God the Father when He had to endure the biggest knock down of His life by dying on the cross.
So, what about you? Are you ready to trust God with your life? Life will throw you punches. It’s your choice to decide where you want to fall.

Sharing this Christian poem for preschoolers about a happy pumpkin will delight your children during this holiday season!
Coming up with a great Christian poem for preschoolers is one of my favorite things to do. If I can add my literary creation to a fun magic trick, then I have a winning combination! I LOVE sharing Gospel magic tricks with children of all ages and today's Christian poem for preschoolers uses a very easy trick that comes from BarryMitchellProducts.com.
I had the honor of meeting Barry at the Magic Castle in Hollywood, CA this past year. He was fabulous! I loved all the tricks he showed and have been adding them to my own collection little by little.
The trick shown in the video uses a trick that Barry calls his "Smile Maker." It's simple, fun and mistake proof. Any novice magician can master it in under a minute. During the "Halloween" season, Barry sells a "Pumpkin" version of the "Smile Maker."
My version of this trick does require some extra preparation. I took fabric puffy paint and "drew" a face on each of the 8 small pumpkins to represent the expressions found below in the Christian poem for preschoolers. It worked really well, but go slow when squeezing out the paint and let it dry overnight. The last thing I needed for my trick was an empty plastic pumpkin that I bought at my local dollar store. Then, "Voila," I had a great trick ready to go!

Read the following “transcript” of this video and learn how to share a Gospel magic lesson using the "heart on a string" trick.
I LOVE sharing Gospel magic tricks with kids and adults, too! It's such a great way to share the good news of Jesus with children.
Here is a real simple trick you can use.
It's called the "Heart On a String" trick. You can see (in the video) that it is made from a normal string and that there are 2 balls on the ends.
The wooden heart is made out of 2 pieces of wood glued together. Inside the heart is a crooked groove, so that when you loosen the string just a little bit, you can make the heart fall or stop at your will.
This trick lends itself nicely to some different scripts or messages that go with the idea of love or hearts.
The message that I share in the following script tells how when we take time to think about God and His love for us, He will set our hearts free. I perform this message after sharing Psalm 119: 28-32 which says, "Strengthen me according to your Word...I run in the path of your commands for you have set my heart free."
If you would like to purchase the actual "heart on a string" trick, you may do so from a gentleman in Melbourne, Australia at SonshinePuppets.com.

Share this Bible magic trick with your kids to help them learn that with God, a little is a lot! Great for teaching alongside the Feeding of the 5,000.
Without exaggeration, one of the greatest additions to my ministry is the performing of Bible magic tricks.
I call a gospel magic trick a "Bible object lesson on steroids." A gospel magic trick is bigger, better and more creative than a normal Bible object lesson.
I am always looking for creative ways to share God's amazing Word that keep the attention of children. A gospel magic trick does this every time when the presenter is well-rehearsed and prepared.
This Bible magic trick is great for the Thanksgiving season. However, it is wonderful to share anytime you want your children to learn that God's blessings are abundant.
Take a look at a sample of this fun Bible object lesson:
When you purchase this Bible magic trick, you will receive a pdf that will give you the links to:
* the presentation video of this trick
* the instructional video of this trick
* the script for this trick
* printable graphics for the grocery bag and fabric store bag
The purchase of this trick does not include the silks or any other tangible items used in this lesson.
This gospel magic trick can be a great addition to a Bible lesson based on Matthew 14: 15 - 21, the feeding of the 5,000:
As evening approached, the disciples came to him and said, "This is a remote place, and it's already getting late. Send the crowds away, so they can go to the villages and buy themselves some food."
Jesus replied, "They do not need to go away. You give them something to eat."
"We have here only five loaves of bread and two fish," they answered.
"Bring them here to me," he said. And he directed the people to sit down on the grass. Taking the five loaves and the two fish and looking up to heaven, he gave thanks and broke the loaves. Then he gave them to the disciples, and the disciples gave them to the people. They all ate and were satisfied, and the disciples picked up twelve basketfuls of broken pieces that were left over. The number of those who ate was about five thousand men, besides women and children.
