Read the following “transcript” of this video and learn how to share a Gospel magic lesson using the "heart on a string" trick.

I LOVE sharing Gospel magic tricks with kids and adults, too! It's such a great way to share the good news of Jesus with children.

Here is a real simple trick you can use.

It's called the "Heart On a String" trick. You can see (in the video) that it is made from a normal string and that there are 2 balls on the ends.

The wooden heart is made out of 2 pieces of wood glued together. Inside the heart is a crooked groove, so that when you loosen the string just a little bit, you can make the heart fall or stop at your will.

This trick lends itself nicely to some different scripts or messages that go with the idea of love or hearts.

The message that I share in the following script tells how when we take time to think about God and His love for us, He will set our hearts free. I perform this message after sharing Psalm 119: 28-32 which says, "Strengthen me according to your Word...I run in the path of your commands for you have set my heart free."

If you would like to purchase the actual "heart on a string" trick, you may do so from a gentleman in Melbourne, Australia at SonshinePuppets.com.

Enjoy my following script for the "Heart On a String" trick:

(Start with heart at the top of the string, right side up.)

Do you ever feel out of sorts?

Like your heart (Let heart fall to the bottom) is just upside-down.

(Pull taught and hold heart upside-down at the top.)

Mom forgot your lunch. (Let heart fall a little.)

Dad forgot to play with you. (Let heart fall a little.)

And your teacher forgot to call on you. (Let heart fall to the bottom.)

You might feel sad and angry. (Turn heart right side up at top of string.)

And then your heart is stuck. (Shake the heart a little to show it's stuck.)

But then you remember to think about God. (Let heart fall a little.)

And how much He loves you. (Let heart fall a little.)

And how much He cares for you. (Let heart fall to the bottom.)

Then all of a sudden you feel better. (Swing the heart back and forth.)

Your heart is set free! But then maybe something happens to make you feel grumpy again.

(Pull taught and hold heart upside-down at the top.)

And you are feeling low. (Let heart fall to the bottom.)

But this time you remember to think about God's love for you right away.

(Turn heart right side up at top of string.)

In fact, you think of a Bible verse about God's love for you. (Let heart fall a little.)

You even think of a song about God's love for you.

(Let heart fall to the bottom.) And once again your heart is carefree!

(Swing the heart back and forth.)

So remember, the next time your heart feels topsy-turvy (Pull taught and hold heart upside-down at the top.)

And things don't go your way. (Let fall to bottom.)

Turn your thinking around to God. (Turn heart right side up at top of string.)

And He will set your heart free! (Let heart fall to the bottom.)
