A Song that Teaches the Names of the 12 Disciples May 06 2014, 0 Comments

Friendship was very important to Jesus. And if friends were important to Jesus, they should be important to us.

The Bible teaches that Jesus had 12 close friends and that they were His disciples or students. He was their Master teacher.

Do you think Jesus knew the names of all 12 friends? Of course He did and so should we. It's never to late or early to memorize the names of the 12 disciples.

One of the greatest ways to learn a list of any kind is to put that list to music. I have written a fun little song that teaches the names of the 12 disciples. Use it for yourself or use it to teach your children.

Along with learning the names of Jesus' 12 disciples, you will also learn a couple of important details about each man. For example, you will learn that Peter had a fishing boat and that one day Peter would actually wash the feet of Jesus.

Or you will learn that Matthew was a tax collector and that Thomas doubted that Jesus came back to life.

Knowing the names of the 12 disciples and a few tidbits about them will help you and your children grow in your biblical literacy. Knowing God's Word, the Bible, should be the goal of every Christian. When we take time to learn about our Lord and His Word, we will grow in our own friendship with Him. And of course, He already knows your name!
